Tim Brooks didn't set out purposefully to become a Tarot Reader, but strangely
enough had a set of tarot cards from age 18 (as you do) that he was always too
scared to use, yet afraid to throw away; he still has them now.
A chance meeting in 1989 with a medium who saw his potential started him down the road to discovery. She lent him some books and it began from there. Later there were psychic development courses at the Portsmouth JCPF (Joseph Carey Psychic Foundation) and Tim's interests led him to explore related subjects like numerology, astrology, Qabalah, dowsing, spiritual healing and crystals. Tim is also a qualified NLP Practitioner and Reiki Master Practitioner.
After a satisfying 28 years in the IT industry with IBM and AT&T, Tim found his growing esoteric interests
over the last 10 years of that career a good balance for his logical, analytical day job. In 2005 he made the leap of
faith, taking voluntary redundancy to continue his studies and make
Tarot Reading the main focus. He continues to use his
business knowledge as an active member of his local community being on both the Business Association Committee and
Community Board, participating in local town projects and planning matters.
In the Tarot world he is a moderator for TABI (Tarot Association of the British Isles) and an ACE (Accredited & Certified Excellence) founder member of Tarot Professionals, the main UK Tarot organisations. Tim says he loves what he does - it is the combination of personal fulfilment from helping people from all walks of life face the future as well as the flexibility and variety of what he does (no two days are the same) - not to mention the buzz from running his own "husband and wife" company!
Tim lives with his wife Elaine in Emsworth, Hampshire – on the UK south coast – a few minutes walk from the sea. Elaine is an Holistic Aromatherapist, Bach Flower Practitioner and Reiki Master teacher with her own practice. Sometimes they work together at shows and charity events and together formed Apricotsunset Ltd in 2006.
